The magic of storytelling knows no bounds. At CyberBrokers, we tell the captivating tales of The Paradigm Lost, our interactive story set in a fictional metaverse. But recently we've taken things to the next level, bringing The Paradigm Lost to life in the metaverse in groundbreaking ways. Dive in as we unveil how we transformed the rich narratives of our story into an interactive, 3D world in Hyperfy, and how you can explore this new world yourself.

It Started with a Vision

Version Beta Missions, a 7-week interactive questing experience open to CyberBrokers holders and collab communities, consisted of story-infused individual tasks and collaborative puzzles that uniquely engaged our community and brought The Paradigm Lost to life. After weeks of fun and adventure, we knew Version Beta needed an amazing finale. The idea was simple but impactful: bring a world in our story to life in stunning 3D. 

We started as we always do at CyberBrokers - with a foundation of rich lore. For Version Beta’s final community puzzle, we introduced Inkwell, a new "Beta World" in The Paradigm, featuring a network of ancient libraries divided into knowledge-focused Zones. Among these were the Enclave of Eudaimonia, with its philosophies and prophecies, and Tomehold, the entrance filled with foundational Paradigm information. Ultimately, we chose to develop The Sanctum of the Celestial in 3D— a mystical and starry zone dedicated to cosmic knowledge.

But to transform it to 3D, we first needed inspirational images to show 3D designers. We turned to amazing AI text-to-image technology to transform our physical description of The Sanctum of the Celestial into vivid, detailed pictures.

After a series of trial-and-error with dozens of prompts, we were finally satisfied with this beautiful depiction. This AI-generated image became the foundational inspiration for our 3D world.

The Journey From 2D to 3D

With the vision now secured, we set to work on bringing the 2D image to life in 3D. This required choosing a platform to host the world, creating the primary 3D assets, and developing immersive interactions within the space.

Since we knew we would eventually be building an interactive puzzle in the world, our top priority was ensuring complete independence from outside resources to prevent any premature leaks before the puzzle's launch. This is why we select Hyperfy as our platform, thanks to its user-friendly interface for in-world object customization and a powerful Javascript SDK tailored for our app development. A special thanks to Ash from Hyperfy and the entire Hyperfy community for their invaluable help in bringing this world and puzzle to fruition.

Collaborating with the talented 3D designer MetaMike, we then meticulously crafted The Sanctum of the Celestial from the ground up as a 3D asset. Our aim was more than just bringing a design to life; we wanted to give it depth and character. Over weeks, we refined The Sanctum, paying attention to textures, ambient lighting, and every minute detail. What started as a simple 2D image blossomed into a complete, immersive realm, with hidden rooms and secret passages waiting to be discovered, and countless thoughtful details for the keen-eyed explorer.

Creating an Immersive, Collaborative 3D Experience

Once The Sanctum of the Celestial was constructed, we added an exciting layer for our community: a unique, interactive puzzle challenge. Adventurers embarked on a journey into the 3D world, seeking a secret Zone known as The Veiled Volumes. Within The Volumes, questers could discover knowledge that could not be found anywhere else in The Paradigm and piece together some of Inkwell's mysteries. This was all powered by existing and custom Hyperfy apps.

Our community worked together in groups to be the first to solve the puzzle. With the unique Talents and Models of their CyberBrokers and Genesis Mechs at their disposal, they unlocked concealed chambers within The Sanctum and collected pages of a book that needed to be decoded. Yet, the path to victory was filled with unexpected twists. To access some of the most elusive passages, puzzle solvers had to strategically utilize our Mech Mods and even face off in a gripping PvP showdown. Only after a team had collected all 20 of these pages could they finally solve the puzzle. Though the puzzle has ended, you can still check out all the cool dynamics of Inkwell in Hyperfy here.

CyberBrokers’ 3D world of The Sanctum of the Celestial is a testament to what's possible when story-telling, technology, and community comes together.
